January 2026 Skincare Releases: What’s New & Worth Trying

I am always on the hunt for new skincare. I need an answer though.. why is it so hard to find product release dates for skincare?! After searching I was able to compile a list of new and newer releases that feel very on brand for January. New Year to me signals a time to rest, refocus, and renew. With the colder, and dry weather I was on the hunt for hydrating and barrier repair products. I am in my 30’s so those features are important (with a mix in of wrinkle repair). Below are the products I would give a try this January.

Newer Skincare Releases I’d Actually Try

A leave on exfoliant? Say less! I am very interested in this product. They recommend it for the improving the appearance of fine lines and loss of elasticity (which my 31-year-old skin has). The before and after pictures on their site are pretty astonishing.

Best for: texture, dullness, early signs of aging

Best New Launches for Dry or Sensitive Skin

This is an affordable choice. For some reason the Sephora Collection is not my typical go-to but their new products have me interested. Is 2026 the year these products pop off? They list it as simply a rich cream with lipids in ceramides. I do love that the container is refillable!

Best for: dry skin, barrier support, budget friendly

I love Peter Thomas Roth products and have had good luck with them in the past, so I threw this one into the mix. A barrier cream with quality ingredients.

Best for: dehydrated or dry skin, moisture loss

Amazon Winter Hydration & Anti-Aging Essentials

Repeat after me, a serum is staple in my skincare routine. No, but seriously if you aren’t using a hyaluronic acid serum, please do! It plumps up your skin and hydrates! Definitely a must have for winter. This brand consistently has products I trust. My dermatologist gives out La Roche-Posay samples so I trust this brand whole-heartedly.

Best for: dry or dehydrated skin, early fine lines

This serum is definitely on the pricier side but please go read the reviews. That is telling for me. I think I will be splurging on this one this year.  It smoothes, plumps, and brightens skin. Check, check and check.

Best for: early aging concerns, texture, dullness

I wanted to throw an SPF into the mix. It’s an important step in skincare and I love that this one is non-greasy and has the benefits of containing the hyaluronic acid. This product is currently in my skincare rotation, and it is perfect for sensitive skin.

Best for: daily sun protection + hydration

Final Thoughts

January always feels like a reset to me. I always start to look what’s on trend or new. These products feel on-brand to me and excite me. Skincare is more important now to me than ever now that I am in my thirties and I will continue to report my faves as I continue trying new products throughout the year.
